Calculators for CFA Exams

The BA II Plus Professional Calculator is available by order from Kaplan Financial in UK. The price of calculator is GBP£42 and the cost of postage for recorded delivery to Ireland is GBP£10. Courses

As stated on CFA Institute's Homepage: "The CFA® Program is designed as a self-study program". "Candidates should be able to succeed on the exams on the exams by studying the CFA Program curriculum readings and mastering the Learning Outcome Statements (LOS). Some candidates, however, may benefit from using prep courses and/or review notes. But these materials should be used as a supplement, not a substitute, for study of the prescribed curriculum."

Our society supports the efforts of local CFA candidates by sponsoring a variety of CFA exam preparation and review opportunities. Experienced and respected investment practitioners coach candidates on CFA curriculum topics, such as securities analysis and investment valuation, financial accounting, quantitative analysis, economics, asset allocation, and portfolio management. Participation in an organized program can complement the self-study design of the CFA Program.

Kaplan Financial is a respected training firm specialising in exam preparatory courses for the CFA exam program. 2009 Candidate Surveys

Annually the society seeks comments from candidates on their exam experience, and the results of surveys of June 2009 Level I, II and III candidates, conducted post the release of all the results, are posted here. Comment boxes could not be included in summary reports below but all answers are being put to good use!

Practice Exams

The society encourages candidates to attempt practice exams coming up to the CFA exam date. According to CFA Institute, aggregate data indicates that candidates who take one or more sample exams tend to pass the actual exam in greater numbers.

There are a number of mock exam and practice questions options available to candidates for the December 2010 exams.

CFA Ireland will host the Schweser Mock Exam for December 2010 candidates on Saturday, 20th November in Dublin. This is an invigilated morning and afternoon exam. Candidates will be given questions and answers in hardcopy at the venue on the day. The cost is USD49. All candidates must register in advance if they wish to sit this exam.

BSAS online practice exam plus practice question testbank is an online practice exam, questions and answers for morning and afternoon exam provided, along with a FREE testbank of questions. Price is 149USD. There are 700 questions available in Level I, 360 in Level II, and 210 in Level III.

BSAS hardcopy practice exam, morning and afternooon practice exam, questions & answers in hardcopy. Available on request from CFA Ireland. Papers will be posted directly to candidates. (This is the exact same exam as the BSAS online offering). Details to be confirmed.

CFA Ireland will email candidates with detailed information about the mock exam offerings from BSAS and Schweser once those details are available to us.

Kaplan Schweser Study Notes

The society has negotiated several discounts on the retail cost for candidates on selected study aid packages and study notes for the 2010 exams.
